RANE Releases 2021 Stratfor Worldview Global Forecast

Every day, RANE demonstrates that the role of geopolitics in global events has never been more apparent nor more critical to understand.  Whether they are physical, digital or complicated risks, our teams help yours manage risk with critical insights and expertise to manage better outcomes.

RANE’s premiere publication, Stratfor Worldview, contextualizes developments a world away so you can make plans for their ripple effects.  In 2020, such events ranged far and wide – from the coronavirus to the worst hurricane season on record; from a prolonged and deadly fire season in the US to a prolonged and deadly conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. From a trade standoff with China to a devastating supply chain hack.

RANE and Stratfor analysts start – and end – each year forecasting global developments, so that our clients can make plans for what happens next.  Stratfor’s forecast is drawn from open source information, databases, a global network of relationships and statistics from governments and corporations around the world. We take that data and information and convert it into intelligence by supplying context and applicability. By leveraging a deep understanding of history, politics and geography, our teams deliver informed perspectives on today’s events and develop a more accurate view of the future so that our clients can make decisions with confidence.

Our 2021 Annual Forecast releases on January 4th. In it we break down the lingering effects of and necessary strategies for dealing with the COVID-19 shock to the world economy, from the South China Sea to Europe, the US, Turkey, India and Argentina, and more.

Of course, 2021 will, at least for the first half, still be defined by the coronavirus pandemic and vaccine rollouts. But thanks to those vaccines, the global economy will begin to reawaken, with China leading the way.

Primary drivers of global geopolitical risk next year will include the great power competition among the US, China, and Russia. As recent nation-state hacks of SolarWinds and other businesses demonstrate, cybersecurity will continue to be a major consideration and geopolitical storyline.

We expect the US will reopen talks with Iran, almost under pressure given Iran’s recent passage of a law designed to force the US’s hand on the nuclear issue.

A “two-speed” economic recovery will occur in Europe, opening the door for civil unrest and fractious relationships in the EU.

You want to understand what’s going on – Stratfor Worldview not only gives you that, but helps you understand why, and how it will affect your bottom line.
