As a member of Stratfor’s core team of analysts, you will be responsible for developing high- quality and forward-looking analysis with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific region, monitoring and analyzing economic, financial, security and political data. RANE’s Research Analysts are responsible for conducting independent research and analysis, writing content for distribution to RANE’s various publications, platforms, and other client-facing channels. Analysts are also responsible for addressing inbound client inquiries, supporting Advisory work, and proactively engaging with clients on their area of topical focus.Their research and analysis addresses topics across RANE’s four risk categories:cyber and information, geopolitical, legal and compliance, and physical safety and security. This role will be focused on Cyber and Information, an area of growing importance to our client base.

The ideal analyst will have either analytic or journalistic experience addressing critical topics related to cyber security/ information security and will be able to translate complex and fast-moving information into actionable insight for a diverse business audience, which includes cybersecurity, compliance, threat intelligence, legal, and physical security professionals.

 

Responsibilities

- Writing research-based content for RANE’s proprietary content pieces, focusing on cybersecurity incidents, threats, threat-actors, trends, and techniques.

- Conducting RANE Expert interviews for unique perspectives to incorporate into proprietary content pieces or in response to specific client inquiries.

- LeveragingRANE’s proprietary tools, insight, and data to create proactive touch-points for clients.

- Conducting open-source research and media monitoring, as well as leveraging RANE’s Expert Network to provide timely and insightful responses to client inquiries on abroad range of Cyber/ Information issues.

- Participating in client calls to support RANE’s sales/ relationship management efforts.

 

Key Skills and Competencies

- Previous experience writing in a business setting/ for a business audience on cybersecurity, information security, data privacy/protection and related topics.

- Experience conducting open-source research, leveraging information in the public domain, as well as other research tools; understanding of research methodology.

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; understanding of journalistic or analytic tradecraft.

- Excellent writing, research, briefing, and editorial capabilities—experience with working to production deadlines.

- Exceptional oral and written communication skills

- Strong intellectual curiosity, creativity, drive, and desire to develop deep understanding of the risk landscape across RANE’s other risk categories: Geopolitical, Legal,Regulatory, and Compliance, Safety and Security Risk

- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across multiple internal teams and stakeholders; flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements is critical

 

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree with demonstrated academic achievement in one of the following: InformationTechnology, Information Security, Computer Science, English, Journalism or a related subject

- 2-4+years relevant work experience of producing research/ content on cybersecurity issues in a fast-paced environment with regular production deadlines is a must

- Additional cybersecurity/ information security certificates or educational experience a plus

- Previous qualitative research and report-writing experience in a professional domain required; experience with quantitative research methodologies preferred

- Prior experience conducting interviews a plus

- Ability to function in a start-up atmosphere, comfort with ambiguity and change

RANE is looking to hire a dedicated Relationship Manager to accelerate growth in our Business Intelligence practice by managing existing client relationships, identifying upsell/ cross-sell opportunities, and prospecting for new clients.

RANE’s Business Intelligence team provides customized research and analysis to support inquiries across a world-class client base, focused in the multinational corporate, financial institutions, and legal space. Research includes, but is not limited to, transactional due diligence, asset searches, litigation, and internal investigations. RANE’s BusinessIntelligence services include unique Advisory capabilities, geopolitical insight, and access to subject matter experts via our Expert community of 7,000+risk professionals.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and nurture relationships with clients in your assigned territory
  • Conduct periodic product reviews with your clients, ensuring they are getting the most out of their existing solutions and educating them on RANE’s other     business intelligence capabilities
  • Develop new contacts and relationships within key accounts to achieve monthly targets and quotas
  • Prospect for new Business Intelligence clients
  • Liaise with Business Intelligence Analyst team on new project inquiries, opportunities, and contracting
  • Manage sales cycles with clients; reliable pipeline and forecast management, as well as activity tracking in SFDC
  • Consistently exceed revenue, retention and pipeline growth objectives
  • Partner with other key internal RANE stakeholders to ensure successful fulfillment of all client requests

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years as a revenue-generating, quota bearing salesperson in account management, with demonstrated relationship building skills
  • Collaborative, team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, small company environment and develop creative, consultative solutions to client challenges
  • Prior experience selling into the private equity space strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the Risk and Compliance industry, the Financial Services industry or the Legal and Regulatory industry is preferred
  • Prior experience in the due diligence/ AML/ KYC space beneficial
  • Consistent track record of exceeding targets
  • Ability to overcome objections
  • Self-motivated, driven; open to feedback and coaching
